Bas Bouman

Bas has been working as Senior Legal Counsel at ICTRecht since August 2026. Within the team, he advises organisations on a wide range of IT law matters, translating complex regulations into practical, workable solutions that align with his clients' strategic objectives.

Bas studied Law at the University of Groningen, where he obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Law in 2016. His academic journey began with a foundation year in Management, Economics and Law at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Enschede. With over nine years of experience in the legal field, Bas has built a broad professional background. Before joining ICTRecht, he spent seven years working as a legal adviser, privacy officer and AI compliance officer. He holds CAICO®, CIPP/E and CIPM certifications.

Bas describes himself as a reliable and pragmatic sparring partner with a no-nonsense mentality (a true Groninger, in other words). He is analytical, solution-oriented and values clear language. Results over noise.
