David van Rijswijk

David is an Information Security Consultant in Lindsey's team. In this role, he helps organisations implement management systems, carry out internal audits and develop control measures.

As a student, David first encountered the GDPR and concepts such as "appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure personal data." But what does appropriate actually mean? And what measures can an organisation realistically put in place? These questions sparked his curiosity, and after graduating he began a cyber security traineeship. He completed assignments in both the commercial sector and healthcare, before going on to develop his expertise further at a healthcare provider, where he supported the NEN 7510 certification process.

For organisations that do not yet work with an information security management system, standards such as NEN 7510, ISO 27001 and BIO2 can feel abstract. Making those standards clear and workable for clients is something David sees as a core part of his role.
