Desiree van Iersel
Legal Counsel
Desiree van Iersel is a Legal Counsel at ICTRecht, where she works on a broad range of matters in the fields of intellectual property, contracting and privacy.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences at University College Roosevelt, with a focus on political science, international law and classical antiquity, she obtained her Bachelor of Laws at Utrecht University. She subsequently completed the Master’s programme in Law & Technology at Tilburg University.
During her studies, Desiree gained experience through internships at the legal department of the blockchain company Bitfury and at four different law firms. In addition, she held a leading role as Editor-in-Chief of the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law.
After graduating, Desiree worked as Legal Counsel at the applied research organisation TNO, where she was, among other things, responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating European, national and international (R&D) agreements and assignments for the business lines ICT, Strategy and Policy, and Defence, Safety and Security.
With her broad background and strong energy, Desiree is keen to support you with questions relating to IP, privacy and contracting. She does not limit herself to the legal framework, but also takes into account practical and technical implementation. Of course, she is equally open to other legal questions.
