Dirk Stam
Legal Counsel
Dirk advises organisations on legal issues at the intersection of technology and law. He specialises in platform regulation, IT contracts and privacy. Whether it concerns the implementation of new European legislation, the drafting and negotiation of contracts or the performance of DPIAs, Dirk translates legal challenges into concrete, workable solutions. In doing so, he helps clients balance legal risks against commercial interests and thinks strategically about long-term effects, ensuring that advice not only complies with the law but is also future-proof.
Dirk studied Law and completed the Master’s degree in Private Law Practice at the University of Amsterdam, where he focused on contract law, liability law and internet law. Dirk is CIPP/E certified (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) and therefore has recognised expertise in the field of data protection. Before joining ICTRecht, he worked both in private practice and in IT recruitment, enabling him to combine legal advice, technical knowledge and consultancy across multiple disciplines.
In his spare time, Dirk regularly plays board and computer games, makes an effort to go to the gym consistently and enjoys a craft beer.
