Floor van Blokland

Floor works as a Legal Counsel at ICTRecht, where she handles a wide range of legal issues in IT and privacy law.

Floor initially enrolled in Art and Technology but soon switched to a bachelor's degree in Law at Radboud University. During an exchange programme, she spent six months at National Taiwan University and completed an internship at the Intellectual Property & Commercial Court in Taipei. She came away from this adventure with a decent grasp of Mandarin.

Back in the Netherlands, she completed her master's in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam, writing her thesis on copyright protection of style and generative AI. She gained practical experience at Bird & Bird (IP section), Brinkhof, the Clinic Law Incubator, and the Information Law & Policy Lab, where she co-authored a policy paper on hacking back in ransomware attacks.

Around the office, Floor is known for being cheerful and sociable, with a knack for thinking outside the box. Outside working hours, she enjoys a good challenge and likes trying new things, from learning a new language to sailing and stand-up comedy. She is also a keen runner, with the goal of one day completing the marathon on the Great Wall of China.
