Marjolein van der Heide

Marjolein van der Heide is a Senior Legal Counsel at ICTRecht. Her work spans a broad range of topics, including privacy, AI, employment law and contracts.

Marjolein holds a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence from Utrecht University. She went on to study law and completed a Master's degree in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam, specialising in privacy. In addition, she completed the Senior ICT Lawyer programme at ICTRecht and holds both the CIPP/E and CIPT certifications.

Before joining ICTRecht, Marjolein worked as a privacy consultant and legal counsel at several organisations. She built up extensive experience in the start-up world, where she learned to look beyond the letter of the law and focus on practical solutions that help businesses move forward rather than hold them back. Her natural curiosity draws her to a wide range of legal areas and subjects. She has a talent for making complex legislation accessible and understandable for clients.

Outside work, Marjolein finds great satisfaction in creative pursuits. You will most likely find her at the piano or surrounded by her drawing materials.
