Robert Veldman

Robert Veldman is Senior Legal Counsel within the Legal & Compliance department. He has a strong passion for healthcare law, enjoys untangling complex healthcare-related issues and regularly teaches on these topics. In both his role as Legal Counsel and as a lecturer, he has extensive experience in the complex healthcare market. He is skilled at translating that complexity into clear considerations and choices and is able to guide both clients and students through this process.

As education coordinator, he was closely involved in the development of skills-based education within the Faculty of Law at the University of Amsterdam. He enjoys sharing his experience through teaching, coaching and mentoring. He remains closely connected to academia as a lecturer in Civil Litigation.

He specialises in legal issues relating to medical devices, liability law and healthcare contracting. He also has extensive litigation experience in disputes between healthcare providers and the Dutch Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (Inspectie Gezondheidszorg en Jeugd, IGJ). In addition, he is an expert in civil litigation and advises on procedural strategy.

Despite his typically Dutch build, he enjoys cycling up the mountains of Andorra. No sporting challenge is too ambitious. This provides a welcome counterbalance to his fondness for Tuscan wines.
