Tim Langelaar

Tim is Senior Compliance Consultant and coordinator of the Compliance section. With almost twenty years of experience in privacy, risk and compliance, he advises and supports organisations in not only implementing and complying with laws and regulations, but also translating them intelligently into practice. His goal is to help organisations navigate complex challenges with confidence and integrity, using pragmatic solutions that work, both now and in the long term. In doing so, he pays close attention to the interests of, and communication with, key stakeholders such as boards, shareholders and supervisory bodies.

Before joining ICTRecht, Tim worked, among other roles, as Director Privacy, Risk & Compliance at VodafoneZiggo. There, he led the team responsible for privacy, risk management, insurance and compliance, including ethics, consumer credit, telecom security and anti-bribery. Earlier in his career, he gained experience as a consultant at a small firm and at one of the Big Four. His work often took place in an international context, making him accustomed to thinking across borders and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Colleagues describe Tim as analytically strong, pragmatic and persistent. He is a bridge builder who does not give up easily and is only satisfied once a sustainable solution is in place. He thrives on efficiency and has little patience for duplication of effort. He does not think solely in terms of risks, but above all in terms of opportunities.
