Koen Bulthuis

Koen Bulthuis works as Legal Counsel at ICTRecht, where he joined the firm in 2022 after reading an Ius Mentis blog about illegal downloading. That blog series, combined with the rapid developments in information law, sparked his enthusiasm to develop as broadly as possible within this field. It therefore came as no surprise that Koen pursued the Master’s programme in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam, after which he started working as a student assistant at ICTRecht.

He has since progressed within the organisation and seeks to engage with as many areas of law as possible. While Koen primarily focuses on compliance legislation, including DORA and NIS2, and IT contracts, he is equally keen to explore healthcare law, platform and telecom regulation, privacy law and virtually any other relevant area. Through his studies, he has also developed a strong interest in media law and freedom of expression. In short, Koen is broadly oriented and always open to new matters and contacts.
